Instrument not responding to all commands in Remote Mode

Question: I can execute SCPI commands like IDN?, ESR?, or STB? but when I send a command to set or query a voltage or current, I get an Execution Error -200 or -221, or the unit is not responding at all, how can I correct this issue?

Answer: Some instruments need to be set to Remote Mode in order to enable full remote communication. For some fully programmable models you would need to send a command like SYSTem:REMote (you should refer to the programming manual for the instrument that you are trying to communicate with to ensure the correct command), and on some other instruments there is a physical remote switch on the back of the instrument that needs to be moved from Normal mode to Remote.
